Is it possible to imagine a world without us? A world without our human traces?

This performance was one of my first inquiries into the Anthropocene through art. The book, The Earth and Man, was over 600 pages long and cataloged the history of humanity and civilization on Earth. I was so irritated by its anthropocentric point of view that I decided to perform a piece where I tried to erase all human-related content from the book using a permanent marker—names, faces, images, maps... everything.

After five and a half hours, I was defeated. I stopped erasing the "footprints", realizing that it’s impossible to simply erase humanity's responsibility of earth surface.
